Presuming you have the "Stronger" spring GiL.
I previously had an MT250 fitted as well even with the Stronger spring it exhibited a little of this behaviour.

Has anyone replaced the rubber grommet in the Air fill port ? I have the new rubber grommet. If so any tips on how you get the wider diameter base into a smaller diameter hole on the fitting itself ? |

I had a similar issue in my CJ. Put a new one ... problem went away. |
