Weren't the AN bolts changed to NAS after the ANs failed in bending during the Zenith testing ... |

Hi Paul,
Did you know AN6 bolts have a rated uts of only 10,100lbs whereas the specified NAS6205 bolts are good for about 12,100lbs?
Also, AN bolt tolerances are class C - general purpose limits ... |

Is there a reason why lead could not be used for the balance weight? It looks like a smaller lead weight could be extracted through the hole in the aft spar without removing the balance arm.

Hello John,
You could reduce the loading on the wings by lowering your gross weight. This is not the same as improving the structure pound for pound but is far simpler for you to do.

I'm trimming the edges of the FTTs and I'm not sure how much I can take off. Drawing 6-X-1 shows the tip to tip width of the tail is 2.3m and the tail skeleton is 2.205m wide without the tips.
