Is anyone successfully using Van's copper foil VHF Comm antenna that mounts on the windshield?

When I bought my RV7 from the builder it had one of those installed and it worked great. I removed it for cosmetic reasons and it does not have a ground plane so it will not have any noise issues if your wiring is poor or not shielded properly.
