I have had some problems with the plastic header tanks mostly due to the
fact that male fitting threads are way harder than the female threads in
the tank. The solution I arrived at was to use polyurethane glue
(Gorilla Glue) as a sealer. It expands when it cures (moisture is the
catalyst for this glue) and seems to lock the fitting in very securely.
The joints I have sealed have held up to 100 hrs of service over 18
months. I am not an expert on glue, and I have not heard of anyone else
sealing threads this way, but I think its worth consideration if you
are having problems.
