I still have the old CJ-6 cowling
without the CJ-6A ram air modification.

Is there a modification kit and if yes,
who sells it.

Elmar;

Your cowling is the factory conversion for the Huosai 6A (285 HP). It is
not the original design for the 260 HP Huosai 6.
The one you are referring to is the most common modification and was, I
believe, designed and installed by the PLAAF. Whether that was later
adopted and installed at the factory I don't know.
I recall a conversation with Doug Sapp some time ago about new cowlings he
received from China with a "different" air intake. They were exactly the
same as yours.
Your aircraft is the only one I have seen with that intake system which
should be an improvement over the original but maybe not as good as the
military modification.

What is the difference? I have a CJ and did not know there is a different
cowling.
