Where does the Central Floor Stiffener (7F8-1) go in relation to the Front Lower Bearing Plate (7F8-4)? Does 7F8-1 go below 7F8-2? That is what drawing 7F10 seem to indicate. Won't there be a gap between the floor (7F8-7) and 7F8-1 at the end of 7F8-4?

Not sure which is correct but it can be built either of two ways. The first shot (white paint) is of my unflown 701. I didn’t build the section shown. The second shot is of George Race’s 701 N73EX (from his excellent DVD of photos). You either have a gap between the floor and the plate or between the plate and the channel. Unfortunately no one has a shot from the side to show what happens between the channel and the plate. The shots in the Zenith photo assembly guide from inside the fuselage don’t appear to shot the plate. So I guess it goes outside. I think I prefer it that way – like George’s and David’s. But it is worth asking Zenith about. Let us know what you find out.
