Does anyone have plans or directions on how to install an air-pump into the L-29 pneumatic stem?
I’m looking to use it to supplement the nitrogen and not to replace it.

I have one on my L-29.
Unfortunatly, I will not have access to my L-29 or my docs before one month more or less.
Working perfectly since 10 years.
Place in front right size where was the original IFF.

Filter and purge after each flight.

Hi Jean,
When you get a chance I would really appreciate if you can how the air-pump was installed, any special parts, what connects to what, where did you put the slump & drain, what type of fittings you used, how did run the electric (DC), where did you put the switch, do you only operate the pump on the ground, what type/brand of air-pump, how did you install the filter, what type of filter, you know basically all the info I need to put on another L-29; which is a great flying machine....

Hi, Bill
As soon I will fly my L-29 (witch is in Barcelona by now), I will give you all details. May be in one month.
There is a switch on the main board (right and pilot). It works when pressure is less than 20 bars, and stop when it reach 50 bars.
I drain it after each flight.
It is ON in flight, except for aerobatics.
Best

Thank you Jean, I look forward to hear all about it; other than the finite limits of the pneumatic brakes the L-29 is a great flying machine..., adding an air will go far to increase the flight missions. Jean, you still use the nitrogen system, it’s intact and the air pump acts a supplement air source...
Many thanks,
Bill

I converted all oxygen and nitro bottles that come stock into nitrogen. In the cockpit I have a shut-off valve that opens the old oxygen bottles to top off the brake system. Carry my own reserve. No leaks. If the pressure goes down just open the valve, pressurize the system to approx. 50-60ATM then close it until the next time.
