I am still having trouble getting my Lightspeed RPM indication to work on my
Grand Rapids DIS and have a question. On the output line, there are 3
options to choose from for RPM indications, analog, digital and one other (I
think, don't have the instruction handy unfortunately). I opted for the
digital pin but am still getting 0 RPM (and I have accomplished the
resistor/capacitor removal as required). Anyone have any other recommended
pins to use? There may be other issues (undetected bad joint?) but I
thought I'd start here.

Thanks,
Marcus

Marcus,

I'd start looking at the hardware being a possible cause. You may
want to send the EIS to GRT and have them look at it. On mine,
the tach out from the Lightspeed goes directly into the Tach in
on the GRT. Then the only thing to screw up is the pulses per rev,
and even if you mess up you should get some reading. There are no
resistors or things needed to do this.

Be aware though that you won't be able to easily feed the tach
info from the mag AND the lightspeed into the EIS, since they
both have different settings I think.

One other thing to check before sending the unit back....are you
SURE that you're actually firing and running on the Lightspeed?
When I do a mag check with the Lightspeed off, it'll of course
read "0" since it's not getting any input from the LSI. Could
it be possible that your engine is only running on the mag?

Marcus , To get my light speed to read rpm on my GRT EIS I needed to put
a resistor to the voltage supply in the DIN plug of the lightspeed to
the feed wire to the eis I think I used about a 10 k
