Group,

I will respond to Roger Kemp’s personal attack on me with the facts. I leave it up to you to form your own opinion.

Roger purchased a set of freshly overhauled actuators from me and was charged a $2,400 core charge for 2 main and 1 nose landing gear actuator for a Yak 52. (That is an $800 core charge on each actuator. This is nowhere near replacement value from the factory today.) He did not want to wait for us to overhaul his actuators. His actuators arrived missing parts (bolts, washers, bushings and a set screw) and partially disassembled. He had one bad piston in the nose landing gear actuator – it was heavily corroded. He also sent a shuttle valve whose mount holes would not align with any of the actuators sent. He was charged for a replacement shuttle valve. I also offered to send that defective valve back to him and the old piston. Here is the complete text of my correspondence with Roger:

Dear Doc,

Good afternoon!

Please see the attached credit memo on your actuators. I will refund you for the return of the bolts and skinny washers. As you can see by the price, they are worthwhile returning.

The other deductions are for the corroded piston in the nose actuator. The shuttle valves were not on the actuators when we got them and one of them will not align with the holes in any of the actuators. If you want, I will return this to you.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Best regards,

Jill

In reference to Roger’s statement, “She just screwed me out of $800 on my actuator cores”, he cannot calculate. I refunded him $1,973.97 of the core charge. $2,400 - $1973.97 = $426.03, not $800. Of that $426.03, if Roger had sent me the missing parts I would have happily refunded him an additional $87.77. Then, he would have been assessed a $338.26 core for the rejected parts. I believe I was fair in my business practices.

Finally, I thank those of you who enjoy doing business with us for your continued support.

Best regards,

Jill
