Gidday,I have just extended the coaming over my sub panel, a similar distance that the original one extended over the primary, and then I extended the primary to match. So, I have a coaming made out of a bunch of foam layers, all shaped up and ready to deal with. I’d like to ask before I glass it over, whether there is any opinion of how far extended the coaming should be over the primary panel? Mine now is 4 1/2” or 110 mm, and it appears that it will work well. Still, others may disagree, so this is the time to ask.
Thanks, in hope and anticipation.
Regards
Tony Renshaw
P.S. It is going to be trimmed up a little more, but the 5 minute epoxy is challenging my sanding skills. I might use polyester car bog, my favourite contouring product ontop of the foam, and then sand it perfect before 2 plies of BID. Don’t worry, my BID will lock it in ontop of the coaming and down onto the top of the primary and sub panels.
