After the nice time at Oshkosh visiting with Europa folk, we thought we'd suggest a couple of fly ins where some of us might be able to meet up again.
A Kentucky EAA chapter has an annual fly in at Rough River in conjunction with GlaStar and has invited our members to join in. This year it is September 19, 20, 21. Their website is http://kyeaasportaviation.tripod.com/
There is a big fly in at Triple Tree, near Woodruff, South Carolina around Labor Day weekend. This year September 3-7, it is a camping only venue with food available. Their website is http://www.tripletreeaerodrome.com/triple-tree-fly-in.php
We're thinking of these as a slightly longer timeframe DOTH

Wow, no comments in two weeks.
Is anyone interested in getting together this summer? How about a west coast gathering?

Jim & Heather,In the past living so close to Rough River it was a snap to drive up or sometimes fly up. My problem is I now live at Leeward Air Ranch in Ocala FL. It's so tough to count on weather that far plus I'm busier than I've ever been in my business and I am a one man show so it's even harder to plan & take time off.
Life is good living with Gold Rush as I can now fly 2 or 3 times a week in the evenings or weekend mornings. Funny... There's about 150 aviators here in the ranch and I have the fastest GPH plane here. For all you other Europa fans out there stay one. We have a great plane. I was going to sell her but we have solved some of my health issues and I no longer fear losing the medical. Just a quick update on us
Anyone traveling thru the state is welcome to land and spend the night here. I can help arrange an east cost fly-in in central FL if anyone is up for that and we would be glad to host such a thing. We have a 6000 X 150 feet of some of the smoothest grass you'll ever land on here.
Hope you all are doing well!!

Jeff,
Great news that you sorted out the medical and are keeping Gold Rush, especially since you live on a great nice grass strip! I flew to Sun&Fun in 2011 and am itching for another coast to coast adventure. I remember calculating that I got 31 mpg at 160 KTAS. We do indeed have sweet little planes.
Work gets in the way for me, too, however with planning in advance I'd be up for another east coast trip.

I'm a little late, but I have a couple of suggestions.
California Capital Airshow, Sacramento, CA Sept. 6-7 KHRM
From here it's a short jump (45minutes) to Lake Tahoe. KSFO, KOAK, KHWD. thirty minutes to KAPC wine county.
Then there's the Gold county, O22, then the gate way to Yosemite KMPI Mariposa-Yosemite.
Let me know?
