Does anybody knows what is the correct Spinner diameter to fit on a Kis tr-4 cowling with rectangular air intake?
I'm thinking on buying a Vans RV standard fiberglass Spinner, but don't know if it will fit.

Thanks,

Fabricio

I have a TR-1 and it is a little over 10" I think. You can start by
measuring the cowl face width and height to get an idea. Is the engine
mounted, if so, with new mounts? They sag with age, 7 to 10 years is usually
the max life. If the engine is in, measure from the center of the prop
flange to the top of the cowl. That is where you probably want the spinner
to be flush or 1/8" high with new motor mounts. Once you know the diameter
you can look at the options in Aircraft Spruce for a stile you like. It will
take some work, you need to have a prop so you know the its thickness to get
the proper front bulkhead.

Hi guys,

first please apologize for the duplicate message. I've sent it via Mobile Phone and don't know why that happened.

Galin,

thanks for sending your spinner dimensions. I'll measure my cowling and check it 12" will make a nice fit.

Mike,

I'll send an email to you about your KIS spinner.

Best regards,

Fabricio

I purchased an aluminum spinner from Spruce. 12-1/16" diameter BN-3 part
#0060, Forward facing flange #05-00585, 1/16" Prop spacer #10055-1,ACS
machine fee 05-04904, High polish finish. Total amount was $396. The Spruce
vendor's phone is 928-855-8613. Talk to Valerie. I would buy it again.
Happy building.
