Tom-
If an articleabout the list I foolishly agreed to take a stab at ever gets into SA, the editor really has his work cut out for him. It's taken me 3 days andGod knows how many responses togive my thoughts and writing direction on the slip/spin issue.
Now I realize that I should have left out the last paragraph in the 7/1post. I should have said SOME ofthe CFIs in our area are from the AVOID dangerous situations school of thought, and others are from the FLY your way out of dangerous situations school of thought. In a critical situation, you'll probablydefault to your training like Pavlov's dog, andhaving two conflicting sets of responses could kill you.
The owner of the flight school refered to in the post below was already booked, so hescheduledmewith a newbie CFI.We were flying in the plane I was part owner of, so hull and liability insurance weren't an issue.
Things would have been totally different if I would have flown with the head honcho. He owns one of the half-dozen remaining clipped wing Monocoupes.Never saw the other CFI around the airport again.
Still 6questionnaires short, but I'm going to startcompiling the responses andwriting the draft. Hope I can pull it off.
