The recent talk about Seat Belts and failure was very interesting.
I am reading AC90-89A (hey, I'm stuck in a motel in Starkville, MS, what do you expect?).
Anywho, I thought I would quote this from the above FAA doc.
"Each seat belt and shoulder harness mounting hard point should be built to the designer's specifications to ensure that it will hold the harness and pilot in the aircraft at the ultimate design "G" load specification, both positive and negative, for the aircraft."
I am adding the advisory as an attachment.
