Your idea has a very important (if not hidden) benefit. The dump valve could also reveal hydraulic fluid getting into the pneumatic system via a rupture in either outboard landing gear actuator.
This would also mean that nitrogen under pressure could work its way into the hydraulic side of a MLG actuator and hydrostatically lock it at worst, or slow down its operation, at least.
Until someone comes up with a purge valve for the pneumatic guage, it's a good idea to release some pressure via the Schraeder valve with a tissue held over it to chek for traces of hydraulic fluid.

Well my father (long gone now) used to always say when I came up with some idea "If it was a good idea, someone would have already thought of it", pretty sad eh?
I believe that it is expected to have Skydrol vapour in the nitrogen area because the O-rings specified for the nitrogen system are Skyrol O-rings tolerant.

I'm not sure that's true, but I am not a mechanic, nor am I an O-ring. The O-rings in the pneudraulic (outboard) actuators will have Skydrol on one side of them, so they'll need to be Skydrol tolerant.
If there's Skydrol tolerant O-rings further downstream in the pneumatic system, then, yes, there may be some fluid/condensation anticipated -- but beware of the nitrogen bottle collecting fluid.
I think there's guys here who know way more about the subtleties of this than I do ...
