During my weekly walk down the Costco isle, I stumbled upon a Coleman 70 gallon, upright Black, 208VAC, air compressor. The represented airflow was 11.5cfm at 90 psi and a maximum output of 155psi. Item #700605 for $389.99. FYI. Nothing at Lowes or Home Depot Aviation Departments have come close.

We don't have a Costco in our neck of the woods, only Menards
and Home Depot up here. But, Home depot does have what I would
think would be perfect if you have the space. Slightly
higher in price (at) $429, but perfect for both building and painting
your plane. It's the VT6314. I have the VT6271 26 gallon
floor model that uses the same pump. The one John talks about
below sure sounds nice. Is it a full cast iron pump, do you know?
Cast iron pumps are quieter overall.

I have the VT6314, bought it on sale for $350 to replace my 26 gallon
Harbor Freight special. I absolutely love it. I can rivet or drill for
hours without the compressor running, and when it does it's fairly
quiet. Even so, it only runs for about 5 minutes to fill back up. Only
problem I ever had with it was the pressure switch went out, got another
one for about $20 and has worked great since.

Or DLP if you want large screen..
Then again, I have 6 *working* Tv's, the largest of which is a 50" RPTV.
I have also *Never* bought a TV in my life. They have all been "Dumpster
dive specials", to which I have repaired them and still use them today;
The most I've spent on repairs have been $300 for the 50" one - although
$200 was for the I2C bus connection box and the debugging/service program.
God, I'ts true! I'm a geek! (Or read: Anything to save money to put on
the plane!)

LCD HDTV, 47" computer screen quality 1929 x 1080i, contrast 10,000:1,
dual HDMI jacks - Sony Bravia = $3299, the Toshiba and Panasonics were
$2499. Just wait till February 2007 and I will bet the price is $1899.
Now you know why I was walking the isles aimlessly. You can monitor
emails from your computer, surf the RV10 builder sites and watch NASCAR
with your satellite video feed at the same time in the shop. Oh yeh,
and the Ipod feeding my 6.1 Dolby surround sound system to override the
echo of rivets whining.
I already have a twin cylinder cast,IR 208VAC on 100 gallon glass lined
tank mounted outside the garage wall. It's on a timer to shutoff at
10PM and can last quite a while before the gun goes limp. Weekdays the
early ON seems to be no problem by 6:30AM.
