Well I went down to check out that older Guys Firefly I looked at every nut , bolt ,cable, wire, fuel line, adjusted a few things tied the tail down Ran the engine everything looked ok to test fly and I did a few fly bys and landed made some aileron adjustments Flew it again and again and again its definatly not a Firestar but it was a joy to fly quite agile I might add also
after I got done flying it his wife stoped in and wanted to see it fly and told him to fly it now or we are selling it so she can park her car in the shead this winter instead of his little Firefly he asked me to go warm it up for him again i did then he really didnt have much of a choice but to try and please her I could see, so he was giving it his best to keep it under controll not really feeling comfortable in it yet.
I warned him that it would scare the bejesus outa him on his first time flying it because of the climb angle which I am useto but what ever you want it to do just give it the command to do so and it will happen
He didnt dare fly it with everyone around so we all headed home for the evening and I almost got in my yard after a 43 mile flight and a short trip back from the airport it was Jim the firefly owner the first thing outa his mouth was it doesnt look the same as when I got done flying it Im thinking oh God he wrecked it but it turned out that steep climb angle well it did just what I told him it would do, he made it around the patch and landed it ,sounded like about 5 times, but the last one he stalled it at around 10 feet and pancaked it in and bent the gear legs but everything else was ok including him
the moral of the story is if you can fly it you can keep it
