I would like to organize a pre-OSH formation clinic / Red Star gathering at my home base, Wausau, WI (AUW) the week preceding AirVenture. The airport manager has consented to fuel discounts and a king-sized cook out, and we could also use it as an OSH mass arrival staging point. We could meet up on July 15 or so, fly a day or 3 and rumble into the Harlem section of Warbirds en mass. The airport is on the water across from Rib mountain - picturesque, and a popular way point for OSH-bound aircraft of all types. 2 hard surface runways of 3100' x 100' and 5300' x 100' with parallel grass strips, full FBO / flight line services, repair shop and 24 hour fuel dispensaries, numerous popular eateries and hotels within walking distance, and the National Hooters Calendar Girl audition just across the street. (OK, that is not exactly "confirmed" but...) We have several Yaks within an hour, so that's a pretty good start. Won't you join us?? Even if you can't stay, please consider gracing our ramp w/ your Warbird and your smile on your way to "the big show!" 



I need guided-experience and and a callsign...!
