Hi, while this proved to be an interesting subject, gathered an almost unprecedented number of remarks, some of which were long meant the last postings were very long and 95% of content had already been sent and read several times.
I am only guessing that was why Matt sent a mail to the list to remind members about it's usage.
Trying to pick the good bits from the already read is a little tedious on a phone.
Sorry to bitch but I don't want to miss the good stuff because of clutter. Please delete all but the title or important paragraphs before reposting.
Do not archive.

John, As the main culprit, I am sorry if I have cluttered your computer! My thinking was that it was an on-going discussion of a very important topic and one v. close to my heart; that the arguments all referred back to previous postings, and that since they were stacked chronologically it didn't demand too much thinking to work out what was the new material and ignore the rest if you did not want to look back. Anyway I feel (as you probably do!) that I have said enough on the subject! Regards, David Joyce, GXSDJ

All…FWIW, I think the issue John raises has to do w/ unnecessary storage of duplicative information on the list-serve, not the cluttering of an individual’s computer.
