See if the problem also exists in the rear cockpit with the front gear selector in neutral and retracting the gear using the rear gear selector. If it still leaks, most likely one of the gear actuators is allowing air pressure to pass by the internal seals. If the problem goes away when you use the rear gear selector, then most likely you have a bad front gear selector.

The only way I know how to determine which actuator it is is to physically remove the B-Nut from the UP side of each actuator one at a time and listen for the air leaking from the gear selector. If it goes away, you've found the leaking actuator. The UP side of the actuator is the fitting closest to the chrome shaft which extends/retracts.  It's a 90 degree elbow. You can also put a small amount of saliva on your finger tip and place your finger tip over the 90 degree fitting.  If the actuator is leaking you'll feel the air on your finger tip.
One more thought...if you find one actuator leaking, you may want to overhaul all three because the other two actuators may not be far behind starting to leak.   If it has been more than 5-7 years since they were overhauled, you may want to "bite the bullet" and just overhaul them and the shuttle valves at the same time.

				Havard,
Could be either actuators leaking back through the gear valve or the gear valve itself.  If it's the actuators I do not carry Yak 52 actuators at this time.  If it is the 3 port, or the 5 port valve we have them in stock.

 Best check the actuators first.
 Best,
 Doug

				Hi,
After test today I conclude with leak in gear handle.
Neautral rear- up forward=very Small leak in forward handle
Neutral forward- up rear= no leak
Down position no leaks either way.
Then I Think my forward handle gives the leak and no internal leak in actuators?
Doug, Could you qoute me a new handle?

				I agree.
A word of caution Havard. First, you will have to reuse the fittings from the old gear selector, unless you purchase new fittings from Doug.  If you are using the old fittings, take a photo of how the fittings are clocked (positioned) into the body of the gear selector. This is very important when you reinstall the fittings into the new gear selector.  If you do not clock the fittings correctly, you will end up cross threading the B-Nuts on to the fitting. Most importantly, DO NOT attempt to unscrew the fittings from the body of the old gear selector without first heating the fitting at the base of the fitting where it screws into the body using a propane torch. Then SLOWLY unscrew the fitting.  If you don't heat the fitting first, you will end up galling the threads of the fitting, making it unusable.
You may want to ask Doug if he has new fittings available. If yes, don't think twice about buying them.

 Hi,
After test today I conclude with leak in gear handle.

Neautral rear- up forward=very Small leak in forward handle
Neutral forward- up rear= no leak

Down position no leaks either way.

Then I Think my forward handle gives the leak and no internal leak in actuators?

Doug, Could you qoute me a new handle?

 [quote]Havard,
Could be either actuators leaking back through the gear valve or the gear valve itself. If it's the actuators I do not carry Yak 52 actuators at this time. If it is the 3 port, or the 5 port valve we have them in stock.
 Best check the actuators first.

 Best,
 Doug

Dennis/Havard,Yes I carry most all the fittings, also have a double ended flare fitting which is excellent when splicing a air line.  We also now carry the new stainless steel air fittings and plugs for use in the new style stainless steel air tanks.
 Best,
 Doug
