If the connections are subject to water drip/splash.
Dow Corning DC4 is my favorite.

it's a silicone based grease that doesn't
attack rubbers and plastics. There are,
no doubt, others.
We also used DC4 to 'pot' coax connectors
on towers before wrapping with Scotch 33
tape.
