I bought mine new from Green Sky. Mine was supposed to have a 1000 ? hour rebuild, was then extended after they decided that it didn't need that soon of a rebuild. I am not sure if there is even a difference. I plan to run mine until it (the engine) tells me that it needs worked on. I "assume" that the manufacturer's recommendation is more to protect him rather than what the engine actually needs. Larry

Great video! What software and camera did you use to capture the image
and GPS data?
Where in the country is this basin?

The camera is a Virb Elite (garmin) and that is what supplies the data. It will do a lot more such as G force- heart rate? and many more that you need extra sensors for, but I find that the ones that I am showing is all I am interested in. To be able to show the data you need to use their editing program. They just had a software update that I personally wish I had not uploaded since it slowed the program down plus planted a damn Watermark on the screen which I did not want to see. I had to create a personal "thingy ma bob" ( tech talk) to be able show the data without the watermark messing up the view. As you can tell it made me a bit grumpy. I do a rough cut with their program then transfer it to Cyberlink to put the sound track, music and do my final cut as it is much easier for me.
As for the country it is in SE Oregon. If you want to see it you might better hurry as our wonderful president is likely to declare it a National Monument before he finally leaves us in peace. Something like 2.5 million acres.

Thank you Larry for sharing this with us. You motivate me to plan to get out and make a video of East Tennessee & SW Virginia this fall to share with the list. Being able to fly and see the earth from our wonderful perspective is a real blessing, and blessings need to be shared with others. You are consistent in setting us a video standard to shoot for. Thank you.

Another great video. I still cannot get over how much it reminds me of the southern California desert and it's dry lakes.

The group didn't get enough time to explore Mickey Basin, so we took off again to do a bit more exploring. The nice part about the area is that we can land our planes and spend as much time on foot as we can stand. The area was the site of an early ranch, and has the remains of a building on it. It was pretty primitive at best, and I would hope that the conditions were different from what they are today. I know for sure that I wouldn't want to live there full time. The feral horses are attracted to the area because there are quite a few seeps and springs.
The house wasn't all that big, even when it was all standing, and was made of native stone and held together with mud from the lake. The western term for the place would have been a "Rawhide" outfit. Denoting that it was held together with hide and scraps. Apparently baling wire hadn't been invented yet.
