It really is not a DIY job to overhaul the actuators. We can do it through our partner Aerometal in Hungary, as can Termikas in Lithuania.

Four tyres in the UK, I would go to Watts who sell a huge range of aviation tyres.

As Richard says, it is definitely not a DIY job unless you have someone providing guidance on how to reinstall the chevron seals without damaging them. Here in the US, the actuator seal kits are about $150 USD per. Damage one chevron seal when reassembling an actuator and you have just blown $150. Been there, got the T shirt.
Then you have to deal with the actuator end caps which are not always easy to remove. If you break the end cap with the tab on it while trying to remove it, you've got an even bigger problem.
Send them off an have an experienced group like Aerometal do them for you. You will not be sorry you did.

				Try Jill in the USA

 http://www.m-14p.com/

They might have them on the shelf (plus a core charge) and then send your old ones back at your leisure.

Be ready to be bent over on the import taxes though....

				Group,

I am not so shocked to see another personal attack on me by this individual,
but I will not sit back and allow it. I do hope one day to meet you in
 person, Roger.

For those of you who may not be privy to the whole story, this "dead" issue
dates back to December 2013 and I am providing the background facts below:

 From: "Jill Gernetzke" <jill(at)m-14p.com>
Subject: Facts surrounding the personal attack
 Date: Dec 05, 2013
 Group,
I will respond to Roger Kemp's personal attack on me with the facts. I
leave it up to you to form your own opinion.
Roger purchased a set of freshly overhauled actuators from me and was
charged a $2,400 core charge for 2 main and 1 nose landing gear actuator for
a Yak 52. (That is an $800 core charge on each actuator. This is nowhere
near replacement value from the factory today.) He did not want to wait for
us to overhaul his actuators. His actuators arrived missing parts (bolts,
washers, bushings and a set screw) and partially disassembled. He had one
bad piston in the nose landing gear actuator - it was heavily corroded. He
also sent a shuttle valve whose mount holes would not align with any of the
actuators sent. He was charged for a replacement shuttle valve. I also
offered to send that defective valve back to him and the old piston. Here
is the complete text of my correspondence with Roger:
 Dear Doc,
 Good afternoon!
Please see the attached credit memo on your actuators. I will refund you
for the return of the bolts and skinny washers. As you can see by the
 price, they are worthwhile returning.
The other deductions are for the corroded piston in the nose actuator. The
shuttle valves were not on the actuators when we got them and one of them
will not align with the holes in any of the actuators. If you want, I will
 return this to you.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
 Best regards,
 Jill

In reference to Roger's statement, "She just screwed me out of $800 on my
actuator cores", he cannot calculate. I refunded him $1,973.97 of the core
 charge. $2,400 - $1973.97 = $426.03, not $800. Of that $426.03, if
Roger had sent me the missing parts I would have happily refunded him an
additional $87.77. Then, he would have been assessed a $338.26 core for
the rejected parts. I believe I was fair in my business practices.
Finally, I thank those of you who enjoy doing business with us for your
 continued support.
 Best regards,
 Jill

I honestly don't know how any of you could read those facts and say that I
was unreasonable in charging for parts that were unusable. Certainly, the
next customer would not want me to rebuild their actuator with corroded and
leaking parts. I am in business and cannot operate at a loss, providing
parts free of charge. I do not apologize for that.

I can also say that we have been in this business since 1992. Take a look
around. How many of the other players in this business are still standing?
We are still here because we are absolutely dedicated and we provide a
service and product that our customers appreciate. I could get on a
Business 101 Soapbox, but the fact of the matter is that those of you who
understand what it takes to run a successful business are my good customers.
The others that think I am a "ripoff bitch" can take your business
elsewhere. That is your choice and I respect that choice. I also choose
not to have you as a customer.

Our landing gear actuator seal kits are $145 USD and include the shuttle
valve rebuild kit. Our flap actuator seal kit is $175 and now includes
stainless steel snap rings and the 2 shuttle valve seal kits. We also
overhaul and pressure test these components.

My experience with Jill has been excellent. She has always been helpful and
honest. I have never found her prices to be out of line with the rest of
the world. And I have always found her knowledgeable and willing to help.
And typically she has the parts we need. Jill, like Doug Sapp, George Coy
and Dennis Savarese, is an asset for the YAK and CJ community and helps keep
 us flying.

				Doc,
You know me. This is not the right way to handle this. If you have an issue take it direct to the source. Sorry if I'm sympathetic to Jill but I know how hard it is to run a Mx shop. You work hard to keep things moving so you can pay your bills and you try not to surprise customers with unexpected expenses. You expend a lot of energy solving or sourcing difficult foreign items and try to make a profit in a community where everyone is trying to minimize discretionary expenses. It'll put gray hair on your head!

Jill, I hope you have an opportunity to speak to Roger direct and work out your differences. Good communication usually solves most problems. Regardless, this community appreciates all your efforts through the years.

Cheers and hope everyone has a great weekend...

For those in need of Yak52 spares, finding the right parts at reasonable prices can be a crucial task to keep these classic aircraft in top flying condition. Whether you're seeking engine components, airframe parts, or avionics, gathering a range of ideas and comparing prices is essential. Engaging with fellow enthusiasts and experts in online forums or aviation groups can yield valuable recommendations and sources for affordable spares. Interestingly, just like coming up with creative "team name ideas" for an escape room challenge, brainstorming and networking in the aviation community can uncover unexpected solutions and suppliers. By pooling resources and knowledge, you can ensure your Yak52 remains airworthy and ready for the skies without breaking the bank.

I hope that a limited amount of advertising is allowed on the "Yak list", but with my partner, Aerometal in Hungary, we can supply absolutely any part for the M 14 engine from a membrane to a total overhaul!
