Regarding the electrical connections, all good stuff. Years ago my panel switch wasn't making good contact and I replaced it to fix my issue. Since your shower is sparks is to working maybe there just isn't enough voltage getting to the starter. I drop of air tool oil on the intake side of the starter could also help.

Its in the RPA website. I think its McMaster & Carr. I did mine and it
wasn't too bad. The stock start valve are way to expensive to replace. Look
it up on the site and there ate part numbers and photos.
