Sunday I flew about 3 hours round trip from El Paso, TX to Columbus, NM. in my FireStar II.
20 airplanes attended including a Kolb, Challenger and a slow X-Air. On our return trip the turbulence was so brutal at 5000' we climbed to 9,000' and found smother air.
In 1916 Pancho Villa attacked Columbus in New Mexico, so President Woodrow Wilson ordered troops into Mexico to capture Villa. The expedition pursued him for eleven months but was ultimately unsuccessful.
We were shuttled, by the restaurant's van, across the border for lunch.
