I have an updraft carb with a heat shield to keep it cool.  In front of that 

is an air cleaner that has an in and out.  A butterfly in front of that 

makes sure all intake air is just downstream from the cylinders.  When open 

it allows ram air from the front.   No ice yet. Ron NB Ore

Jan,  Good memory but Ron has a speedster and is over 100 lbs heavier  that 

me to start  with.

If I recall  correctly Ron has a redrive on the VW .  Should be a decent 

combination when all the tweaking done.



Ron,  Any troubles with Carb ice on the VW ?
