Dave,

 I have over 190 hrs now on my Jab 3300A with  no problems with the "O" ring on the oil cooler adapter.  Also, like others  I safety the filter.  I put a band of rubber tape around the filter body  (for chafe protection) and then install a hose clamp on the filter.  I  

 then safety wire the hose clamp to the  oil press sender.
