I have a single strobe light I need to mount on my Firefly. Is there a "best" or standard place to put it for maximum visibility to other traffic?

Thanks,
Jim

FWIW I think top of the rudder is best for a single strobe (not too
heavy; watch balance) You'll be most visible to traffic above you,
should be good for any low-flying craft. If you can have two, put
them on wingtips

Here's another mounting possibility...This is a Kuntzleman SC-103.

Here's another idea - this one on a Mk III. The red strobe is from Aircraft
Spruce, the chrome mount is a shower pipe cover from Ace Hardware.

Jim -

I've heard that mounting your strobe high up on your vertical fin offers
the best overall visibility for a single-point location. I mounted my
Kuntzleman strobe on the leading edge of the fin, near the top.

It looks like the top of the v stab is where the overwhelming majority put
the stobe. I think I'll be putting it there too.
Thanks for your response.

About now I wish I lived farther south. We've had at least 4 bouts of storm-force winds, twice over 60mph peak gusts 69mph (I'm glad I have a hangar rated for 90mph).

Last Sunday I spent 3 hours plowing snow then ran out of daylight and couldn't fly. I'm off the next 5 days and hope to fly-fly-fly, although winds are forcast 20k tonight & Thu.

Jim:

Always look at the bright side. Seems you'll be saving lots of tire
rubber taking advantage of 20 kt winds, short take off and landing
roll.
