Hi Kieth check the archives as this subject keeps popping up. I'll try to
post pics to sportflight if I get time meanwhile I'll attach some to this.
Sorry If the files are large. One suggestion is to use more than 1915cc like
I did. Valley Engineering LLC makes a redrive. Ron NB Ore 1915cc VW,
1.61:1 redrive, 72" Ivo ~50 hours and going flying now.

Ron, good pictures...thanks!
What's your compression ratio and the fuel type you are running?
Cyl head, oil temps?
Also, what kind for alternator for elect power?

Type one case, 94 mm pistons, ~8:1 compression, 87 octane 3000-3500 rpm. I
used a Diel accesory case which has the mag drive, alternator and starter as
well as lycoming mounting bushings. Great Plains Aircraft sells all the
stuff for the motor, but you can buy a new stroker crank and stroker pistons
on Fleabay for much less. Oil temp in summer around 190 today never came
off the peg. Cylinder head temps were through the roof reading under the
spark plug. Moved sender under head bolt and now 375 tops. Got that tip
from GP Aircraft. Got one hour flying in today. Ron NB Ore
