Pat/Gang,
LDS stands for Latter-Day-Saint. The official name is "The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". The name "Mormon" is a slang name
mainly for the beleif in the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible to be
the word of God.
Nice God fearing people who love their God, Country and Family.

grief....I'm glad to know that I am not the only one paying attention.....
