My supercharger is staying "ON" when control is turned "OFF"... tensioner belt
needs adjusting - should I turn it left to loosen the belt or right to
tighten the belt to allow MP to be 29.9 inches when "OFF"? Four or five
turns?

The supercharger tension needs to be loosen.
I tried adjusting the supercharger tension when the starter didn't seem to stay engaged. I have the 30mm starter solenoid. Apparently I need the 34mm starter solenoid. I have a 12 volt system.

I did loosen it - and it strted fine - two props! now, I need to adjust it
because the supercharge stays "ON" delivering 37 inches MP even when the
supercharger control is put in the "OFF" position. I know I can just leave
the SC ON and drop the MP back with the throttle, but I want to be able to
turn it off properly. The glastar cowling is not too bad to take off, but it
is requiring some on and offs -- cause to check the full throttle manifold
pressure, I cannot hold the plane still - it skids on the brakes! The only
way is to taxi out and do a takeoff with full throttle....
I'll let you know when I get it figured out. I am also tying to get hold of
Joe Krybus at Santa Paula Airport - he apparently is a LOM expert and see if
he has any hints.
thanks!
