One can see that through the miracle of zeros and ones, the source of the RF noise concerning the auto plug conversion.
Last summer Gulf Coast Avionics, in Lakeland, took a three week avionics job and turned it into over four months. They completely upgraded the Yak panel and made so many mistakes that I would suggest that all RPA folks stay away from that company.
Finally, when Gulf Coast said that the Yak was ready, I cranked up and pulled out of their hangar. NO BRAKES, and almost hit the tail of Ken Terry's T-34.
They refused any responsibility (the line from the reservoir was broken in half) and claimed that I had brought the plane in with no brakes.
If it was not for my friend and RPA member, Craig Payne, the plane may still be sitting in Lakeland. Craig found an A&P to replace the brake line for me.
Of course the two new com radios would not work because they did not follow the contract, and placed both antennae 12 inches apart; and not the new one on the belly as agreed. So, back to Lakeland again to move it to the belly. Now have a nice new hole on top.
Anyway, in August, Dennis did my annual and placed his auto plug conversion. NO difference in avionics function or background noise.
Dennis knows that we need to isolate a connection on one plug that is not 100%.
Recently pulled all plugs after 65 hours to have a look. All were fine except for that one cable that needs a better connection.
Went down to the local NAPA; $1.27 for a new plug! The other 17 plugs were fine and were replaced. The M-14 runs smoother and seems to have more power since the conversion. Bless "experimental" class"!

Best to all,
Ray Gage
