I'm almost ready to rivet my cabin frame and LG/strut pickups on my 701. Before doing so, it would probably be best to paint the parts. Can I just use good ol' Krylon for this, or should it be done professionally?
Thanks,
Dan

I've used 2 part epoxy primer on all steel after cleaning well w/ wax and
grease remover. It's tough and adheres good and is an excellent base for any
top coat. Spray it with a Prevail sprayer (available at car parts store).
It's very economical as you only mix what you need even if a 1/2 ounce.

I'd use a primer first. The one I'm using is Mar-Hyde 5111 self-etching
primer. It sticks like nothing else I've tried. You can get it at a good
auto parts store or paint supplier. It isn't cheap, but it's worth it.
Hope this helps.

Quote: | I would sandblast the steel first, thats if you got
access to a sandblaster unit, but if you don't just
clean the best way you can and get rid of the oil
and grease. Two part epoxy is very good for
protecting the steel.....do not archive
