One more question for the day.

This one is in reference to the overhead liner and what to do at the seam where two sections mate and where the liner ends like the door posts.  Is some type of binder being used here? I am going to use the fiberglass around the perimeter, however, I am wondering about all the other places where the liner ends.

Thanks
Niko

It depends on what material you are using. If it is a cloth, then folding it over on itself and sewing it, then gluing it down works pretty well, or making the pieces separately and then sewing them together, or sewing one to itself and gluing it over the other one works well. That is what we do with the leather.

Jesse,

I am going to try sawing the two pieces of material together and I think that should work out fine. I am using a cloth headliner with 1/4" foam backing. At the edges I am thinking of using something called "wireon". I am going to bond it on to the edge of the Cabin Cover, open it up, place the headliner inside and close it. You can see what I am talking about in this website http://www.lebaronbonney.com/trim.htm I don't have a sample yet so I don't know how difficult it is to bend it around curves.

Thanks for the info.

Niko

I haven't tested it. I am currently waiting for samples of all of their binding material.

Niko, THANKS for the link, I'm very interested in what you find/learn as
the finishing of the headliner around the cabin door openings and door
posts is one of the (many) things I haven't got a solution to yet. I'd
appreciate your posting what you find when you receive your material
samples.
