Mark,
I’ve ordered an MTV-9-260 with the Russian K-flange that will be mounted end of May (at the factory in Straubing, Gemany). A 260 is perfectly possible on a Yak 50. On the 52 it’s rather the 250 to be installed.
I don’t consider the mounting myself since I don’t have the equipment nor the experience for the dynamic balancing.
Richard Goode is very knowledgeable about these props. Have a glance at his website.

Subject: YAK-50 Prop Question
Looking for some feedback from YAK-50 owners that are lucky enough to be running 3 bladed props.
Except for one Hoffman, most of the folks I have talked to are running MT's. What I need to know is whether you are running a 250 or a 260 ? Is the 260 so long that wheel landings are a threat to the blades or is there plenty of room?
All comments welcome.

Mark,
I currently have a MT-260 prop on my Yak50. So far so good. I really like the looks of the 260, with its added length over the Hoffman 250 that was formerly on the airplane.
The performance is definitely superior to both the Hoffman and the two blade. 4500 feet/min. vs the 3500 of the two blade.
I believe that the 260 has a 500 lb. static thrust advantage over the two blade and a 250 lb. thrust advantage over the Hoffman 250.
Speeds are about the same with any of the props.
Let me know if I can help.
