Hello List,

After a thousand missed deadlines, and numerous other projects, I finally finished the repairs and mods on my Mark IIIC.

Did several runs and taxi test this evening. Tomorrow the wife is going to help me do a new W&B. Need to see how the changes will come out on the W&B.

Right now, I have her in a friend's hanger at Omni (LA46). While some of you guys are off having a grand time at MV, I'll be starting to work on the structural steel for my hangar. Gonna be hard to not fly and work on steel for a hangar.

Cutting grass in the morning, then off to the airport, for a W&B at various fuel levels, and then first flight in a long time.

Short list of work done:
1) Bent, welded, and heat treated new 4130 landing gear.
2) New 21.5 gallon tank (Hauck Brothers Design)
3) New lower tail post supports (Hauck Idea).
4) Recovered cage with fabric and attached at each longeron to prevent fabric drumming. (John Williamson technique). Did not do that the first time.
5) New instrument panel to accomodate new MicroAir transponder.
6) New seats that lift up for access to stuff that falls underneath (Hauck again).

I'll post some pictures of some of this stuff if anyone is interested.

Be careful, have fun.

Hi John,
Glad to hear you are almost ready. Please do post some pics. I would love to
see the mods you did. Maybe it would inspire me to get started on my project
again. I'm going to join the Big Lar club in a few more years if I don't
tighten up.

Thanks,
John Cooley
