AOPA ePilot Special Airspace Bulletin May 11, 2007
-------------------------------------------------------------------

A special notice to pilots in the central Virginia area

==> ATTENTION PILOTS <==

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER RICHMOND ON FRIDAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Richmond, Virginia,
that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during
President Bush's planned visit on Friday, May 18.

There will be a large 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight restriction
(TFR) centered on the RIC VOR's 300-degree radial at 10.3 miles, extending
up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 4 p.m. local until
7:25 p.m. local on Friday. Also, there will be several smaller 10-nm-radius
GA no-fly zones in effect within the larger TFR during that time frame. See
AOPA Online for the full text of the notam along with a graphical depiction
( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/1643 ).

The affected landing facilities are Chesterfield County (FCI), Hanover County
Municipal (OFP), Richmond International (RIC), Hanover Air Park (VA77),
Spring Valley (VA95), McLaughlin SPB (2G6), Mazza (VA73), New Kent County
(W96), Fort Lee Ahp 3 (Qrtmst Cen) Heliport (VA39), Dinwiddie County (PTB),
Lake Anna (7W4), and Cub Field (VA81).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages pilots
to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight. TFR violators
will be intercepted and forced to land.

AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner provides graphical depictions of TFRs
