Get a plastic milk carton or similar. I used some oil bottles. Find a piece of tubing around 3/4 diameter. I had a piece of copper laying around. It worked but had to be dressed up every 3 or 4 punches. I used the belt sander | 01234567890
John,
I have a rather large set of round punches that I use for leatherworking. I would be glad to loan them to you.
What sizes do you need? Write or call me if you like and we can get together.
Besides, I’d like to see what progress you have done since the last time I came by.

Black thermoplastic half grommets from aircraft spruce - Type GP5B - price 6ยข each. They are shaped in such a way that they slip over the shaft of the DZUS fastener and then lock under the head. They are slightly dished in the center and a little thicker than milk carton material. They work very well.
That said, if you want to make your own, have at it!
