Gentlemen,

The vote is in and in the first round Darrell Condor Gary received 5 votes. That is a majority and he is the new RPA President. Someone needs to notify him and McGirt also.

When are we, the RPA membership, going to start voting at large for the leadership instead of the board electing them? I remember some discussion about that but it never really came to realization. We fly ex-communist bloc aircraft but having the politburo elect the leadership too?
Have nothing against Condor nor Talon. I do not personally know Condor but do know Talon and have a lot of respect for him. It is just seems that the general membership should be deciding on the leadership of the RPA rather than the board. Then again the election of the RPA leadership could degenerate to present level of the general buffoonery involving our current political leadership too. Where it is not the qualifications of the candidate that earns them the office. It is how much money is in the coffers to fund the campaign that gets them elected.

Doc,

Two years ago, there was a proposed change in the RPA bylaws. This change
included the re-organization of the Board of Director so each region be
equally represented. This proposed change in the bylaws was sent to the
membership for a vote and was, if memory serves me right, accepted by the
membership with very high numbers.

These members voted bylaws have a well define electoral process. This
process was followed to the letter for last night's election. EVERY Director
did cast a vote. Even the ones that could not attend, their vote being cast
earlier that day via email.

I understand and appreciate your concerns. However, I must say they are 2
years too late. This debate went on for quite some time on this very
medium. But that ship has sailed.

The new president was elected by your representative IAW the bylaws voted by
the member.

Cheers,

Dan Fortin
NE Regional Director
