Jerry-
Now you see why I don't fart without a can of Renuzit on hand!
Pure speculation, but I don't think the firewall engine mount bolts necessarily have to match the firewall. You're trying to match the engine mount geometry.
Only one way to solve this- what did all you other HDS builders set the angle at? Not that you can't bend the parts 1/8" either way to make up the difference.
At the same time, if you have a +/- 5 degree tolerance, I'm covered either way.
Amazing that now there are now 40 pages of builder's manual devoted to the subject for the XL, but you drop off the end of the earth for the HD/HDS mid-way into the fuse. Saw a lotta 10+ year old HDSs at Brampford!

Go to http://www.zenithair.com/zodiac/6-manuals.html Then click on the link for "Construction Standards for Zenith Light Airplanes". This is in the builder's section of the ZAC web site so you may need the builder sign on.

Elden-
The photo manual that's available online through the Zenith website. Since you're an XL builder, you should have the DVD that is a duplicate.

The resolution of the images in the Acrobat documents on the CD is higher than what you can get off of the web site. You can zoom in more.

Craig-
Why the hell should I buy an XL CD to build an HDS? The HDS prints shouldn't have dropped off the face of the earth! It's not like I didn't pay good money for the HDS kit!!!! Are HDS builders Untermenchen?
