I received the following email this evening and want to pass it on the the
group. I understand that most list members are outside the immediate area
of Marysville, but for those that have an interest, drop Irv a note.
A little background. I was contacted several times in the past by Golden
West's EAA organizers with the idea of moving the Cameron Park fly-in to the
Golden West venue (the genesis of the flight of 20 or so to Golden West).
My original thinking was that the more intimate location - my house in a
residential airpark - was more in keeping with what we were trying to do.
During our most recent fly-in (June 9 of this year), I was pleased to find
that John Gibson, President of the Golden West EAA fly-in, was in
attendance. Later in the day we had a round table discussion with many of
the Kitfox folks and he agreed that combining the events would probably not
work, but encouraged all to attend their event in Marysville.
Some good suggestions were made, among them that reserved tiedowns would be
available so the Kitfox group would be able to be close together. Other
suggestions may be implemented next year (possibly avoiding the 100 kt
airspeed in the pattern by allowing us to land at the ultra light field)
Based on the interest they have specifically shown to us, I would encourage
those able, to attend. Contact Irv for further information.
