				Greetings Gentlemen,

I am a new 701 builder. I will be picking up my full kit on the 31st. I have decided to start out with the 582 engine (already have one). I am interested in any motor mounts or other FWF items that may be for sale. Installation photos, tips and comments regarding the 582 will be appreciated.

This is my first build and I intend to be flying in one year. The shop is ready and I can't wait.

I have some toys that need to find new homes, to help fund the Zenith. Please help me find buyers for a Challeger I and a Destiny powered parachute, both registered as ELSA and in excellent condition. Located in North Central Arkansas. I am a very motivated seller at this time.

 Thank you,
 Richard Craig

Welcome from a fellow Arkansan. Where in NC Arkansas are you? I'm down in El Dorado (South Central).

I think you might find that the 582 will leave you with a woefully underpowered 701.

Just came back from the Zenith Factory in MO and had a chance to fly the 701
with Roger ( great bunch of folks there by the way ! ). He said the 701
performed well when the 582 was installed. Admittedly it won't have the
"umph" of some of the higher hp installations but then again we ar'nt
building a speed demon ! Hope he's right as I'm installing the 582 bluehead
 in mine.

Hi Richard, welcome to the group. I expect you will
really enjoy building your CH-701 kit. I'm scratch
building my 701 and am thoroughly enjoying every
 minute of it.

I have to admit that I share Gig's concern about the
power of the 582. The original prototype 701 did fly
on a 503 but the current rendition of the 701 has kind
of gained weight right along with the rest of us North
Americans. I'm not sure that the 582 is quite going
 to get the job done.

Of course, you can always try the 582 and if it isn't
up the job, sell it off as a down payment toward a
 912. While you will definiately pay a power penalty,
the 582 is a bit lighter than the 912 so that should
 offset things.

Best of luck with your build. You've already found
one of the best resources for building a Zenith
 product, this list.
