Hi Gang,
The TCFG Flyin and Convention is less than two months away and we can't wait to see all of you again. Hope you are all making plans to attend.
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />The Hangar Hotel at the Gillespie County Airport (T82) in Fredericksburg, Texas will be the site of this year's event. Fredericksburg is one of the most popular destinations in Texas and is located in the very heart of the beautiful Texas Hill country with a blend of German heritage and Texas hospitality. Adjoining the airport is the beautiful Lady Bird Johnson Park with several water features, nature trails, picnic spots and all types of sporting facilities. The park is also home to an eighteen-hole championship golf course. You can board carts at the Hangar Hotel and be at the course within a few minutes. Some of the local sites of interest (just to name a few) include the National Museum of the Pacific War, the Nimitz museum, and numerous art galleries.

The airport is located only 2 miles from historic Main Street which is host to unique shops and restaurants. Many of the buildings are representative of a German/bavarian village.
Fredericksburg is located 1 hour and 15 minutes east of Austin and 1 hour south of San Antonio. There is so much to do and see in this area of Texas that you will want to come early or stay after the Fly-In to go exploring.
A great program is being finalized including a visit to San Antonio being arranged by our own Buddy Windham, a Fly-out and/or field trip, ladies shopping excursion and a good line-up of speakers. The cost will be $150 for members and $200 for non-members. Registration packes will be sent this week to current TCFG members. If you are not a current member, let us know and we would be happy to send you the information.
CAR RENTAL INFORMATION:
The Motor Pool Auto Group serves the Gillespie County Airport and they have a small fleet of cars. Please call 866-990-0562 to reserve. If you are arriving after 6:00pm arrangements can be made to pick up your car at the Hangar Hotel. Enterprise Rental Car provides rental cars to the airport if the Motor Pool does not have any available. Call 830-997-1745 to reserve.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
The Hangar Hotel is a very unique and fun hotel located right on the airport (www.hangarhotel.com) A block of rooms has been reserved for this event at the following rates (taxes not included):
Thursday Night $ 99
Friday-Saturday Nights $145
When making reservations let them know that you are with the Twin Commander Flight Group (TCFG), group confirmation #L259010. In order to receive this rate rooms must be booked no later than August 20th. After that the rooms will be released for general booking at regular rates. Book ASAP as rooms will go fast.
