I don't wish to start a debate, either, but those fantastic claims are, in
general, just that. The demonstrations (I have seen one) are as the
promoters claim, except for the one thing they do not tell you, that there
is oil mixed in with the gasoline -maybe even 2-stroke oil- that permits the
engines to run for quite a while without seizing up. Just as a 2-stroke runs
indefinitely without any in-engine oil supply.

The trick is really quite simple, and worthy of Barnum & Bailey, any good
snake oil salesman, or diet promoter.

The next time you see a demo at an auto show/flea market, ask the promoter
to do it with his own vehicle.

I'm not wanting to start a oil debate, really. Just wondering if it would
have worked.

Many years ago a friend of mine ran a C210 in solid IFR for almost an hour with no oil pressure. He had used Microlan.
wish we could use in the 912, but I think it will damage the clutch in the gearbox.
