I had the same stripped-screw issue and it really sucked. Plus, with the wings on you can't get any tools in there. I was getting leaks around the screw heads. I ended up putting some Marine epoxy(label said can be used to seal fuel tanks) around each of the leaky screws and it fixed the problem. It has only been a couple months so I can't guarantee how long it will last.

is that the heads stripped simply because of the torque required to run the
screws down into the platenuts. They were not even snug when they stripped.
I was very surprised that they stripped out in platenuts that had already
been run-in.
