I use Tri-Flow and LPS1 to lubricate all the areas on the plane, never used WD40.

I have a couple questions since we are on the subject of lubrication. Is there a downside to lubing all the contact points on the plane?
I have been spraying pulley, the yoke connections etc with wd-40 every month. Am I doing something wrong here?
What is a good recommended oil lubricant and what should I spray?
