I suggest rubbing a candle on the cable. It will not attract
dirt/dust and is compatible with the nylon. I use this for many
a[pplications. It is not permanent but seems long lasting. No harm in trying it

I think it is just a guide more than a actual tight fitting bushing.
Is it binding now ? You should be able to move stick full aft and
let go to have the stick return full forward. If not something
could be binding.
