See what you mean. Amazing what a coat of paint will cover!
Would have been just as cool to have left them as Lavochkin look alikes’. They would have been quit a conversation piece at the local fly-ins. But then again, the 50 attracts its’ whale share of attention without the fake skins!

"75" as found and after removal of all the dummy skins used to create the Lavochkin look-a-like.
This aircraft is now in Texas but I took the shot at Thruxton Airfield in the UK just after assembly
as it emerged from a shipping container from Moscow along with one of its sequentially numbered
brethren.
