Dear Listers,
There are just a couple days left for this year's List Fund Raiser. Over all, participation has been good, but things have been pretty slow this week for some reason. If you've been putting off making your Contribution until the last minute, this is it! The last minute, that is... 
Please remember that there isn't any sort of commercial advertising on the Lists and the *only* means of keeping these Lists running is through your Contributions during this Fund Raiser.

Is advertising on this list an option?
Is bagging for money a normal on other lists?

In this case the request comes from Matronics, the company that
provides the forum for this list. The entire operation is otherwise
ad-free, meaning that Matt makes no money off of this or any of the
other discussion lists they host (yes, there are many others). It
still costs money to buy and operate the servers it runs on and to
provide the excellent support we receive to keep the list running.
Matt has elected to ask for voluntary contributions once each year
rather than smear commercial ads all over the Matronics web pages and
attach them to every message forwarded by his servers. This approach
provides you with the freedom to decide with your dollars what value
the list brings to you.
You may not agree but, personally, I prefer not having to weed
through all the crap that many web-based services include to sustain
themselves.

I believe anyone can mention products or services that are specific to the aircraft the list is intended for. Plus Matronics has product gifts for $50 and up.
