Hi guys:

This evening N5SL had her second flight with the rudder cam up and running. The test pilot noted several things common with other 601XL's such as the heavy left wing, very sensitive pitch and not enough elevator trim for a hands off approach with full flaps. All small items that didn't spoil the flying. It was a fantastic day with the sun coming out just long enough for us to get some time flown off to chip away at the 40 hours. The engine is still tight and top speed is indicating in the low 110's (MPH). I expect that to change after several hours of break-in time and maybe some tweaking of the prop pitch.

The best news is that I got it all on video from the rudder and now I have to figure out how to format it so I can share it (It was recorded on a DVD recorder).   I hope to get it up on YouTube and on my website in a few days. It's not as shaky as the first video.

Have a great week,

scott,
in flight testing, add weight equal to a small person in the copilot seat, and the plane trims out great. the plane is designed I found to trim perfectly with two people aboard. olo, its' trimming charactereistics are totally different.
